Professional Experience
Farid Najand is a licensed Professional Engineer and PMP certified Project Manager with experience delivering complex infrastructure, mission critical, and facility modernization projects across federal, transportation, higher education, and commercial sectors. He began his career in Las Vegas as a water resources engineer supporting the design and construction of critical water infrastructure systems, including municipal wells, water distribution networks, treatment systems, drainage improvements, and utility expansion projects throughout the Southwest.
After relocating to Washington, DC, Mr. Najand transitioned into project and program management roles supporting large scale retrofit and renovation projects for both federal and commercial clients. His experience includes modernization of FAA facilities, Amtrak’s new highspeed rail maintenance facilities, higher education central plant and building system upgrades, and secure communications and resiliency projects for the Architect of the Capitol. He has managed multidisciplinary teams through all phases of design and construction within active and operational environments where coordination, phasing, and stakeholder management are critical to project success.
Most recently, Mr. Najand has focused on mission critical and data center related infrastructure projects, including electrical resiliency upgrades for secure government data centers and communications infrastructure supporting operations. His experience includes coordination of redundant power systems, standby generation, cooling infrastructure, fiber backbone integration, and phased infrastructure upgrades designed to improve operational reliability and support continuous operations. Through this experience, he has developed a strong understanding of mission critical project delivery, multidisciplinary coordination, and the structured design and construction processes required to support large-scale data center and infrastructure programs.
What motivates you to support and mentor others on a project team?
“High tide raises all ships” has always reflected how I view teamwork. Throughout my career, I’ve learned that successful projects depend on the strength of the entire team, not just individual contributors. I believe in supporting the people around me, sharing knowledge, and creating an environment where everyone can succeed, because when the team performs well, the project succeeds as a whole.
What are some of your favorite hobbies?
I enjoy playing basketball, snowboarding, and spending time with my kids. I like to make the most out of life by staying active and being around family and friends.
