Project Engineer

Why did you choose structural engineering?

My dad is a civil engineer and as a kid, I admired pictures of him with his hard hat, yellow vest, and his ongoing project in the background. I chose civil engineering as my undergrad major and was attracted to the structural discipline from my Statics and Mechanics of Materials classes. Now, I look at structures, connections, and supports all around me and have a growing appreciation of the physics behind everything.

What are your favorite hobbies?

As of 2023, I set a goal of running a mile every day, and it’s completely changed my life for the better. From meeting runners during races to running with friends, the supportive community has been uplifting and inspiring, and that energy spreads across other aspects of life. I also play club chess often and am working towards an official USCF ranking.
