Building 14 is a 51,500 square foot single-story building constructed in 1982. Peoples Associates performed a Seismic Review of the building shell, process/testing/lab equipment, suspended utilities, and roof mounted units and utilities. Peoples Associates presented its results in a Seismic Review report that outlined the seismic deficiencies of the building and provided retrofit recommendations. Peoples Associates developed Seismic Retrofit Strategy options using various criteria, including building code and FEMA performance-based rehabilitation guidelines. The Retrofit Strategy options considered several limiting factors including the on-going use of the facility and sensitive operations housed within the building. Peoples Associates worked closely with Quantum staff and the General Contractor to prepare Construction Documents for the Seismic Retrofit.
