Structural Design of New Parish Hall & Addition to Pastoral Administration Building
The Multi-Purpose Building is a single story structure that encloses approximately 9,000 square feet of space. The Building exhibits concrete block walls, a 4,800 square foot room with a 125 square foot stage and 270 lineal feet of hanging movable partitions. The structure consists of manufactured wood roof trusses, exterior concrete masonry walls and concrete slab on grade with spread footings. The design of this building was especially challenging because it has a large open space in the middle with no support for the roof.
The Pastoral Administration Building is a two-story structure with a partial basement at the first floor. Several modifications were made to this building, including the addition of approximately 500 square feet to the northwest corner of the building, the removal of several interior walls and the addition of a new stair to the basement.
