The Hayes Mansion was built in 1905 and at the time of its construction was the largest private home in Northern California. In the mid 1990's, the Hayes Mansion was expanded and converted into a full conference facility. As part of their latest expansion, Peoples Associates provided the Structural Design of a new 50,000 square foot building and an addition to the existing Mansion.
The new three-story building includes 79 guest suites, numerous conference rooms and a subterranean basement. The basement has several small meeting rooms, a kitchen and staff facilites. One of the buidling's conference rooms is a large 70 foot by 87 foot open space with a 23 foot high ceiling and movable partition walls to accommodate varying sizes of events.
The addition to the existing Mansion consists of a 1,700 square foot dining room with a glass barrel vaulted roof and corridors connecting the dining room to the new building.
