This project included the Structural Renovation of two existing, locally historic buildings and the Structural Design of an addition to each building. The two buildings are now occupied by the Castle Rock Restaurant and Gift Shop.

Prior to renovation, the Castle Rock Restaurant had never been completed or occupied. The original construction date of the building is unknown and comprehensive drawings for the original constrcution do not exist. Peoples Associates created As-Built drawings based upon available documentation, the results of our field observations and the building survey. The renovation included the addition of a new roof designed to provide out of plane support for the walls, the strengthening of the walls, and the addition of a floor. Peoples Associates also provided the Structural Design of a 2,600 square foot addition to the north side of the existing building.

The Structural Renovation of the existing building now occupied by the Gift Shop included the removal and/or relocation of shear walls and load bearing walls, modification of the roof, completion of the basement and the addition of new architectural elements. Peoples Associates also provide the Structural Design of a 1,200 square foot addition to the north side of the building.
