This project included the design of a new single span, post-tensioned concrete bridge parallel to an existing steel truss bridge and retrofits and modifications to the existing steel truss bridge.
After the community commented on the aesthetic difference between the existing and new bridges, Peoples Associates designed a steel truss facade on top of the deck of the concrete bridge to match the apperance of the existing steel truss bridge.
Design modifications to the existing bridge included abutment underpinning, seismic enhancements, and a new cantilevered sidewalk.
