Mr. Peoples is a Professional Structural Engineer with twenty eight years of engineering experience in California. His experience encompasses a wide spectrum of structural engineering projects including industrial, commercial, transportation, and institutional structures. Mr. Peoples possesses specific expertise and knowledge of Performance Based Structural Design and Seismic Reliability involving not only buildings and building components, but critical secondary systems such as equipment supports, cranes, heavy industrial ceilings, automated material retrieval systems, and suspended utilities. Mr. Peoples is routinely consulted on the subjects of Seismic Performance, Construction Feasibility, Structural Rehabilitation, Seismic Retrofit, and Value Engineering for complex projects. This specific knowledge and depth of experience has enabled Mr. Peoples to successfully complete and effectively manage a variety of complex structural engineering projects. Mr. Peoples has established productive professional working relationships with local building officials, government agencies, design professionals, contractors, and industrial facilities managers.

Mr. Peoples began his structural engineering career in the Structural Engineering Department of a San Jose Civil/Structural Engineering Firm. After 13 years of service (including the last four years as Structural Department Manager and Chief Structural Engineer), Mr. Peoples established the firm of Peoples Associates Structural Engineers.

Mr. Peoples maintains involvement in local and national professional engineering associations, serving a term as the President of the South Bay Engineers Club (1997-8) and regularly attending local meetings of the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California. In addition to his participation in professional organizations, Mr. Peoples is actively involved in the local community. He is currently serving on the Economic Development Commission for the City of Milpitas, on the Board of Managers for the East Valley YMCA, as Chair of the Energy Generation Subcommittee of the City of Milpitas Energy Task Force and as a member of the Valley Transportation Agency's Milpitas Community Working Group for BART Extension. Mr. Peoples is an active member of the Milpitas chapter of Rotary International and the Milpitas Chamber of Commerce.
