Mr. Taplin is a professional Structural Engineer with twenty two years of structural engineering experience. His experience has been focused on the design of a variety of buildings, including multi-family, single-family, retail, commercial, industrial, mixed-use and mid-rise structures. Mr. Taplin has designed buildings constructed with a wide range of structural materials including wood, metal, steel, masonry, cast-in-place concrete and post-tensioned concrete.

The breadth of his experience contributes to the quality of his projects by understanding the advantages and disadvantages of the structural systems available and how they can affect the Owner, Architect and Contractor. In addition, Mr. Taplin has accumulated an understanding of how the concerns of other disciplines can affect the structure, including fire-resistive constuction, mechanical ducting, piping for sprinklers and plumbing, electrical, civil and foundation/soil design parameters. Armed with this experience, Mr. Taplin assists the Design Team focus on the structural systems that are best-suited to the specfic needs of each project.
